Assam Rifles conducts health and hygiene awareness campaign

Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive Health and Hygiene Awareness Campaign at Assam Rifles Public School, Somsai, on the eve of World Hepatitis Day.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the initiative aimed to educate students and staff on the critical importance of preventive healthcare, hygiene practices and early detection of hepatitis to encourage a healthier lifestyle.
The campaign featured a series of informative events beginning with an address by a dedicated medical team.
The focus was on maintaining personal and community hygiene, ensuring safe drinking water, promoting vaccination awareness and encouraging regular health screenings to tackle the silent yet serious threat posed by hepatitis viruses, especially Hepatitis B and C.Following this, an interactive session enabled students to engage actively by raising questions on various health and medical topics, reflecting their keen interest and understanding.
The event concluded with a medical check-up session, further emphasising the importance of proactive health management.
Sixty-eight students and eight staff members attended and expressed their appreciation for the valuable information imparted through these sessions.
This health and hygiene campaign demonstrates Assam Rifles' firm commitment to community well-being and the strengthening of civil-military cooperation in the region.
