Imphal, October 26 2025: A Fit India Freedom Run was organised on 26 October 2025 at Hengkot Village in Churachandpur District, Manipur, drawing spirited participation from 60 villagers, including 25 children.

According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the initiative, led by Assam Rifles, aimed to promote fitness and educational awareness in remote border communities.

The run coursed through the village's scenic terrain, with 20 men and 15 women joining the children in a vibrant display of unity and enthusiasm.

Eighteen troops from Assam Rifles coordinated the proceedings with diligence, reinforcing their outreach efforts in the region.

At the culmination of the run, stationery kits were distributed to all participating children, encouraging their academic pursuits and underscoring the importance of education.

The gesture was warmly received and added a meaningful dimension to the day's activities.

The event not only fostered physical well-being but also strengthened bonds between the security forces and local residents.
