Imphal, March 25 2026: The Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has mourned the untimely demise of one of its dedicated members, Akham Sonika, who passed away on March 24, at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Hospital.

Sonika, daughter of Akham Seityabrata and Akham Kabem of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai, was bom in 2007.She joined the MSF unit at Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School in 2023 and later served as the assistant drug affairs secretary for the Imphal West District Committee.

According to the condolence message released by the MSF, Sonika was admitted to RIMS Hospital on March 14, due to a severe illness.

Her condition deteriorated, and she breathed her last in the ICU yesterday.

The MSF expressed deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting her unwavering commitment to the welfare of students and the community.

The organisation stated that her passing is a significant loss not only to her family but to the entire student community.

The MSF offered heartfelt condolences and prayed for her soul to rest in peace.
