First-ever Jiribam Book Fair opens at Babupara Ima Keithel

Jiribam, May 21 2026: The District Administration Jiribam today successfully organised the first-ever Jiribam BookFair, 2026 at Ima Keithel, Babupara.

The inaugural function of the two-day book fair was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam Krishna Kumar and Superintendent of Police, Jiribam Prakhar Pandey as dais members.

DC Krishna Kumar inspected the various book stalls put up at the venue.

The event was attended by teachers and students from different educational institutions of Jiribam district.

The fair featured a wide range of books catering to students from pre-nursery level to college level.

In addition, books useful for competitive examinations were also made available and witnessed significant interest among visitors.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Krishna Kumar stated that the book fair, being organised for the first time in the district, would continue for two days till tomorrow.

He expressed happiness and gratitude to the SDO, SDC, district level officers, teachers, students and the people of Jiribam for their cooperation in making the event successful.

He further informed that various competitions have also been lined up as part of the event and urged the media to help spread awareness so that more people can participate.

Appealing to the public to extend support and encouragement to the initiative, he said the administration hopes the book fair would promote reading habits and educational awareness among the people.
