Free medical camp for senior citizens held in Noney under AVYAY scheme

A free medical camp for senior citizens aged 60 years and above was successfully organised under the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) Scheme at the Multipurpose Hall, Longmai-3, Noney District Headquarters.
The camp was jointly organised by the District Social Welfare Office, Noney, in collaboration with the District Health Society, Noney, with the objective of ensuring accessible and quality healthcare services for elderly citizens in the district.
The camp was formally launched by Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Noney, Dr Azin Maringmei, in the presence of District Social Welfare Officer, Noney, Singupngam Thaimei.
A team of specialist doctors from various health institutions provided medical services during the camp.
They included Dr Athui Gangmei, MD (Medicine), JNIMS; Dr Clasmson Kamei, MS (Orthopaedics), JNIMS; Dr Thaimei Gairanlung, MD and Senior MO, Noney PHC; Dr Sangamlung Kamei, Medical Officer, CHC Nungba; and Dr Stanley Gangmei, Medical Officer, PHC Khoupum.
Nurses and ASHA workers from PHC Noney and Haochong also extended their support to ensure the smooth conduct of the camp.
More than 80 senior citizens attended the camp and-benefited from free health check-ups, specialist consultations and distribution of free medicines.
The organisers expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of the camp and reiterated their commitment to continue such welfare initiatives for the well-being of senior citizens in Noney district.
