Sensitization programme, workshop held

A 3-day Hands-on Training cum workshop on "Research Methodology" began today at Manipur University, Canchipur.
The workshop, organised by the Department of Forestry, Manipur University, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students and scholars of Manipur University, Central Agricultural University, and St Xavier's College, Senapati.
The inaugural function was graced by Prof M Damyanti Devi, Dean, School of Agricultural Science; and Prof A Rajmani Singha, Director, Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC), Manipur University as presidium members.
During the three-day workshop, resource persons will deliver interactive tutorials on scientific research, reporting and presentation, ethics,, in research & publication, open access publishing, research metrics, and biosafety issues in the laboratory.
The participant will also receive hands-on training in DNA marker technology and data analysis.
Meanwhile, a sensitization programme on Tuberculosis was held today at the NCC Air Squadron Camp in Khumbong, under the aegis of the State TB Office Manipur.
During the programme, Dr Irengbam Homendro, District TB Officer Imphal West and Dennis Irengbam, State Consultant, elaborated on the basics of TB and how NCC cadets could contribute to TB elimination.
Tomthin, representative from EEHUL Foundation, also spoke on how NGOs work to support TB patients in the private sector.
Altogether, 250 cadets and officers participated in the programme.
