After a detailed and constructive discussion, the Governor directed the officials to continue their dedicated efforts and mentioned that the government would provide all possible support to address the concerns.
According to the PRO, various civil society organisations (CSOs) from the district met the Governor and submitted memoranda, highlighting key local concerns and developmental needs.
The Governor assured the representatives that their issues would be carefully examined and conveyed to the appropriate departments for necessary action.
He also inspected the newly constructed Mini Secretariat building in Kamjong.
Earlier in the day, the Governor, accompanied by the First Lady, attended the inauguration of 7th Shingcha Wuyawon Festival 2025 .
The Governor's presence at the cultural celebration was warmly welcomed by the local community and marked a gesture of solidarity with the people of the region, it further said.
The festival, organised under the theme 'Grow with Nature', will continue till July 19 .
Governor Bhalla, accompanied by MLA Leishiyo Keishing and other district officials, trekked up the Mount Wuya Kachui, the natural habitat of the Wuyawon, a striking pink orchid ginger flower that blooms across the scenic mountain slopes.
The flower blossoms each year during the month of July.
A picture-perfect location with misty views, Wuya Kachui is also home to groves of rhododendrons, drawing tourists from across the state.
According to local legends, the Wuya hillock derives its name - "Mountain of Sleep Paralysis" or "Mountain of Nightmares" - from the haunting dreams of a war hero who once camped there.
Speaking to EastMojo, the Governor lauded the efforts of local residents in maintaining and conserving the region's rich ecological biodiversity.
He also hinted at the potential creation of a tourist circuit aimed at promoting both the festival and surrounding destinations in the region.
