CRPF conducts CAP at Taphou Onaeme, distributes tailoring machines

Senapati, December 17 2025:
In a bid to strengthen civil-security relations and promote community development, the 78 Bn of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Tuesday successfully conducted a Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Don Bosco School, Taphou Onaeme village, in Senapati district.
The programme was organised under the aegis of Rajendra Narayan Dash, Inspector General, CRPF (Manipur & Nagaland) Sector, and under the supervision of Rajesh Kumar, DIG (Ops), Kohima/Kangpokpi.
The initiative aimed at fostering trust between the security forces and the local community, with special emphasis on women empowerment and self-reliance.
As part of the programme, 14 tailoring machines were distributed to trainees of the Sharon Training Centre, belonging to different districts of Manipur and neighbouring areas.
The programme was graced by village chairman of Taphou Onaeme, Ts Khaie as chief guest.
Deven Bhosle, Commandant of 78 Bn CRPF hosted the programme, while T Thangal, SDPO Senapati PS, attended the function as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Commandant Deven Bhosle said that such outreach programmes are aimed at building trust, enhancing skills for income generation and promoting self-sustainability, particularly among young women facing social and economic challenges.
He reaffirmed the CRPF's commitment to serving society not only through maintaining security but also by contributing to inclusive development.
The initiative was warmly welcomed by villagers, who expressed gratitude to the CRPF for its continued goodwill activities in the region.
Coordinator of the Sharon Training Centre, Mary, also lauded the 78 Bn CRPF for its generous support towards empowering women, in her vote of thanks.
