Thoubal, May 17 2026: A one-day international seminar on the life and works of Prof Nongmaithem Tombi Singha was held on Sunday at the Nazrul Kalakshetra Sahitya Akademi auditorium in Tripura.

The seminar was jointly organised by the Manipuri Sahitya Parishad and the Nongmaithem Foundation.

As part of the programme, renowned singer of Tripura Kshetrimayum Madhabi was felicitated with the Prof N Tombi Smriti Puraskar Award.

The inaugural session was attended by Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad president and poet AK Sheram as the chief guest.

During the first session of the seminar, N Prafulla Bijoy chaired the proceedings, while Khoisnam Birola and L Mina presented their research papers.

In the second session, papers were presented by W Birmangal, K Dhiren and L Birmangal.

The event also featured a poetry recitation programme in which 12 poets participated.
