SBI donates school bus to SSM

Imphal, May 16 2026:
The State Bank of India, Regional Business Office (RBO) Imphal West, donated a school bus to the Spastic Society of Manipur on Saturday as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
The vehicle was formally handed over to the Society by Khumukcham Okendra Singh, Regional Manager, SBI RBO Imphal West, at a function held at Narankonjin, Langthabal.
Ashutosh Sinha, ADGP, Manipur Police, and Waikhom Birahari Singh, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, were present.
The Spastic Society of Manipur (SSM) is a special school for children with disabilities and a Cross Disability Therapy and Counselling Centre.
Speaking at the event, officials stressed the need for inclusive support and accessible transportation for children with special needs.
They noted that the initiative reflects SBI's commitment to social welfare and community development through CSR activities.
The management and staff of the SSM expressed gratitude to SBI, stating that the bus will significantly improve transport facilities for students and aid the institution's day-to-day functioning.
