Abducted teacher freed after torture

Imphal, March 15 2024: Dolang Khunou Government High School science graduate teacher Md Wahidur Rahman, who was abducted by unknown persons from Kyamgei Pal Ahanbi on March 11, has been released at Keirak in Kakching district on Friday after torture.

He has been admitted to JR Hospital & Research Institute, Telipati for medical attention.

Members of All Manipur Meitei Pangal Clubs' Organisation (AMMPACO) visited the hospital to enquire condition of Md Wahidur.

According to AMMPACO president Yum khaibam Rahman, Wahidur was abducted along with his Alto car (MN07D 0652) from the gate of Learn English Easily Tuition Centre located near Pal Ahanbi Thong while waiting to pick up his .children.

Informing that a complaint has been registered at Irilbung police station in connection with the abduction case, the president disclosed that hijacked car of the teacher was found abandoned in an area at Pishumthong on March 13.Wahidur has been released after brutal torture on Friday around 4:30 pm at Keirak in Kakching district.

Yumkhaibam Rahman, while appealing to the concerned to clarify reason for abduction and torture Wahidur Rahman, also urged all concerned not to carry out ransom demand by concealing one's identity.

He also appealed to the police to arrest the culprits within 24 hours failing which intense agitations will be launched.
