Moirang, October 14 2025:
Internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Napat and Tangjeng Ahallup have expressed that the demand being raised by some IDPs to the Bishnupur Deputy Commissioner to provide funds for daily essentials through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) is unacceptable to them.
IDPs from Napat and Tangjeng Ahallup in Kumbi Assembly Constituency, currently sheltered at various relief camps in Wangoo, held a protest at the Wangoo Higher Secondary School relief camp.
Addressing the media, Ch Kanta, an IDP, appealed to the Government to continue supplying rations and daily essentials through the respective Relief Committees.
He said that any initiative to provide money instead of goods is unacceptable to them, citing concerns that funds might be withheld, disrupting the supply of essential items for IDPs .
