Workshop for ultrasound clinics conducted

Thoubal, February 14 2025: District Health Society (DHS), Thoubal PC & PNDT Cell and ICDS Cell, Thoubal district programme officer under the aegis of Thoubal district administration conducted a workshop for private ultrasound clinics of the district on 'Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC&PNDT) Act, 1994/Rules' .

The workshop participated by representatives of 27 clinics was opened by Thoubal chief medical officer Dr Y Nokul Singh while legal-cum-probation officer Reena Chanu Moirangthem and PC&PNDT district nodal officer Dr A Rajen Singh were the resource persons.

The resource persons elaborated on women and the PC&PNDT Act, 1994 along with directing the ultrasound clinics to strictly follow provision of the said Act, send timely report to the government, prominently displaying the names of sonologist/radiologist/gynaecologist concerned, display sign board that they do not entertain pre-birth gender determination, sign undertaking by would-be parents before conduct of ultrasound test and prompt registration and renewal of licences of clinics.
