3-day Cane & Bamboo craft training begins in Jiribam

Jiribam, September 12 2025:
A three-day training programme on "Cane & Bamboo Crafting" commenced today at Jiribam Range Office.
The training programme organised by the Divisional Forest Officer, Jiribam Forest Division, is being conducted under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performances (RAMP) Scheme.
The initiative is supported by the Manipur Industrial Development Corporation Limited (MANIDCO) as the State Nodal Agency, with Jiribam Forest Division being the Implementing Agency.
The inaugural session was graced by Range Forest Officer, N Biraj Singh; along with trainers Md Manjur Ahmed and H Rajesh Singh as dais members.
A total of 25 trainees are participating in the programme, which will be led by the trainers.
Speaking at the occasion, Range Forest Officer N Biraj Singh expressed hope that the three-day training would help participants sharpen their skills in bamboo and cane crafting.
He added that such programmes are expected to boost production and promote self-sustainability among local artisans.
