Assam Rifles to host North-East Seminar 2026

Imphal, January 11 2026: In a significant move to facilitate constructive dialogue on the regional landscape, Assam Rifles is scheduled to conduct the North-East Seminar 2026 on January 13, 2026 at the City Convention Center, Imphal.

Centred on the theme "Resurgent Manipur: Framework for Stability & Sustained Growth", the event seeks to explore comprehensive strategies for security, reconciliation, governance and development within the state.

As per a release issued by the IGAR (South), the seminar will commence with opening remarks by a senior official of Assam Rifles (South), followed by a keynote speech from Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Governor of Manipur.

Seven eminent subject matter experts, including Lt Gen C A Krishnan (Retd), Rami N Desai, Banita Devi Naorem, Lt Gen R P Kalita (Retd), Niraj Kumar, Lt Gen KH Singh (Retd) and Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei, will share their insights.

The gathering will see participation from over 500 attendees, comprising a diverse group of approximately 500 officials and troops, alongside civilians, medical professionals, academicians and students.

The proceedings will culminate in a final summary by the Director General of Assam Rifles and a vote of thanks by the Vice Chancellor of Manipur University.

To ensure wider public engagement, the entire event will be live-streamed across the official social media handles and YouTube channel of Assam Rifles.
