Imphal, February 06 2026: The 104th birth anniversary of renowned writer Maharaj Kumari Binodini Devi was commemorated today at the State Central Library auditorium in Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal.

Organized by Leimarol Khorjeikol (LEIKOL), the event drew dignitaries including filmmaker Aribam Shyam Sharma, Gangmei Aluna Kabuini (HoD, Tribal Department, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipuri Dance Academy), and LEIKOL president Ch Subadani Devi.

In her address, Subadani noted that LEIKOL annually honors three pioneering women - MK Binodini, Takhellambam Thoibi Devi, and Khaidem Pramodini.

She highlighted Binodini's role as LEIKOL's founder president until her death, urging women to lead in all fields, especially in promoting their mother tongue.

The programme featured floral tributes to MK Binodini's portrait and the release of the LEIKOL journal.
