MOREH, May 5: Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Chongjang Village in Tengnoupal district to provide healthcare assistance to residents of the remote border area.
The initiative brought much-needed medical support to 35 villagers, who received free consultations, vital health examinations including blood pressure and pulse checks, and medicines for common ailments such as cough, cold, fever and seasonal infections.
The camp proved especially valuable in a region where access to regular healthcare remains limited due to terrain and distance.
Continuing its outreach, Assam Rifles also conducted medical and dental camps at Aishi, Kongkan and Phaikoh in Kamjong District on May 4 & 5, 2026.A dedicated team of medical and dental staff carried out comprehensive health check-ups, diagnostic procedures and dental consultations, while distributing medicines and raising awareness on hygiene, oral care and preventive healthcare.
The programme benefitted 246 civilians from more than seven villages, including 65 men, 113 women and 68 children.
The enthusiastic participation of villagers across these locations reflected the importance of such initiatives in addressing immediate healthcare needs and building resilience in communities with limited access to medical facilities.
