National Drivers' Day observed along NH-37 at Noney

The NH-37 Commercial Transport Drivers' Welfare Association, Noney, observed National Drivers' Day at Longmai Part-V along NH-37,neartheNoney Fire Service, under the theme "Heroes on Wheels'.
The programme was attended by Superintendent of Police, Noney, Namsadai Peter Pamei; president of RNSOM, Daichui Gangmei; and president of the NH-37 Commercial Transport Drivers' Welfare Association, Achun Gangmei; who were present as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries expressed gratitude to transport drivers for their tireless services, particularly during difficult and challenging times.
They highlighted the vital role played by drivers in ensuring goods and services, contributing significantly to public life and the economy.
The speakers also appealed to the drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and safety norms for the welfare of all road users.
As part of the observance, the Association arranged lunch for truck drivers passing through the area as a token of appreciation.
Drivers welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation to the Association for recognising their contributions and honouring them on National Drivers' Day.
