Science Club Manipur celebrates 47th foundation day

Thoubal, May 23 2026: Science Club, Manipur celebrated its 47th foundation day today at the Leimapokpam Muhindro High School Complex, Thoubal Athokpam.

The celebration was attended by retired Scientist-G of the UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research, Indore Centre, Madhya Pradesh, Dr Okram Gunadhor Singh; retired Principal of Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School, Thoubal, Ngangbam Amuchou Singh; and president of Science Club, Manipur, Yumnam Shubon Singh as presidium members.

As part of the programme, secretary of Science Club, Manipur, S Biren Singh shared a brief account of the establishment and journey of the club with the gathering, highlighting its contributions towards promoting scientific awareness and education in the State over the years.

During the event, Designated Officer of Food Safety Administration, Thoubal, Y Satyajit delivered a lecture on the topic "Food Safety Standard Act, Rule and Regulation," explaining various provisions and the importance of maintaining food safety standards.

Retired Technical Officer of the State Food Testing Laboratory under the Directorate of Health Services, Manipur, A Bihari also spoke on the topic "Food Adulteration and Sample Testing with Food Safety on Wheel," creating awareness on food adulteration and methods of food sample testing.
