Imphal, January 22 2026:
A public discourse on Chingakham Sanajaoba who led the revolt against the British colonialism in the year 1919 was held at Kangmong Tongbram Leikai Community Hall in Imphal West district on January 18, 2026 .
As per a release by the Chingakham Sanajaoba Memorial Trust Committee, the public discourse was organised to remember and honour the contributions of Chingakham Sanajaoba and other unsung heroes who were sent to the infamous Cellular Jail in Andaman & Nicobar Islands for revolting against the British colonialism.
The meeting was attended by Sinamcha Heramani Khuman, writer Maisnam Kesho Luwang and Chingakham Munal as presidium members.
Writer J K Luwang also attended the event as a resource person.
As part of the event, new office bearers of Chingakham Sanajaoba Memorial Trust Committee were elected.
Ng Tomal, P Kiran and Chingakham Ibochou were elected as the new president, secretary & treasurer respectively of the Trust.
