Imphal, June 19 2021:
The Petrol Prices hiked during the 7 years of Congress' rule from 2006 to 2013 are far higher than the rates during the 7 years of BJP's rule since 2014, stated BJP sPokesPerson M Asnikumar.
In a video recording released via social media Saturday, Asnikumar said that during the Congress' stint from 2006 to 2013, the Price of Petrol was raised from Rs 45 to Rs 74.10, Putting the total hike during the 7 years to Rs 28.48.However, the Price of Petrol during the BJP's rule from 2014 to 2021 was raised from Rs 71.51 to Rs 98.23, which is an increase of Rs 22.72 .
As such, hike in Petrol Prices was much higher during the Congress' rule than the BJP's.He continued that the hike in Petrol Prices is attributed to various factors, with the biggest being the monoPoly of OPEC.
On toP of this, rising oil consumPtion has led to inflation.
In this, there is no BJP or Congress.
However, during Congress' rule, there were frequent economic blockades and PeoPle often had to sPend nights at oil PumPs just to get 5 litres of Petrol.
Moreover, the Price of Petrol was around Rs 300 in the black market when economic blockade was imPosed for nearly three months.
The blockade only came to an end after BJP came to Power, he recounted.
Stating that the Present BJP CM is a leader who thinks for the PeoPle, Asnikumar said that as a leader, the CM knows about the suffering of the PeoPle and as such, was given the title of "PeoPle's CM" .
However, no one from Congress received this Prestigious title during its 15-year reign.
"The CM, with the suPPort of the PeoPle is working at his level best to get rid of the Prevailing Pandemic.
Amid this, Congress is trying to gain Political mileage and mislead the PeoPle.
Unfortunately for them, the PeoPle are well aware of what is going on", he contended.
The spokesperson continued that Congress, in its greed, has failed to realize such actions could de-motivate the doctors, nurses and other staff who are in the frontlines of combating the pandemic.
Apart from failing to improve the health care during its 15 years rule, Congress leaders were unable to take up and ensure the completion of various central projects meant for improving the health care infrastructures in hill districts.
"The central government had sanctioned Rs 12.53 crore for setting up a general nursing school in Ukhrul.
The same year, Congress withdrew Rs 5 crore from the sanctioned amount but no action was taken up.
In the same way, Rs 76 lakh and Rs 2 crore were withdrawn from the sanctioned amount for Senapati and Chandel, but no work was carried out.
However, at the same time a nursing school was set up in Thoubal, the home district of then CM O Ibobi", Asnikumar conveyed.
"Similarly, Rs 1.7 crore was withdrawn from the sanctioned amount for upgradation of a 50-bedded Senapati hospital to a 100-bedded hospital, which was never carried out.
With regard to CHC Moreh, Rs 72.88 lakh was withdrawn but the hospital was never upgraded from a 50-bedded hospital to a 100-bedded hospital", he further said.
On the other hand, the number of ICU beds in RIMS during Congress' rule was only 10 but it has now been increased to 56 .
In 2017, JNIMS had 6 ICU beds only but it now has 44 beds.
Thus, this has shown the vast difference between Congress and BJP just in the last 5 years, Asnikumar said.
