Budha Chingtham to be honoured with KBNM 2025

Imphal, December 17 2025: The Khundongbam Brojendro Ningshing Mana (KBNM) for the year 2025 will be presented to renowned theatre critic & playwrightBudhaChingthamfor his book "Mukyetnaba Leela Mari".

The KBNM is a prestigious award, presented by the Writers' Forum Manipur (WFM), Imphal, every three years to honor contributions to Manipuri literature, especially drama, in memory of playwright Khundongbam Brojendro.

The WFM in their executive committee meeting held on December 16,2025, resolved to present the prestigious award to Budha Chingtham, in recognition of his invaluable contribution in the field of Manipuri literature & theatre.

The award comes with a cash prize of Rs 30000, a citation, and shawl.

The award distribution ceremony will be held on January 13, 2026 .

Moreover, the WFM will also be organising a book release function for the book titled "Anganggi Lairik" written by Nabakumar Nongmeikapam at Manipur Press Club, Imphal on December 20, 2025 .

As part of the function, Rajumar Bhuvan will be giving a special talk on the topic, "Anganggi Khorirolgi Taibang" .
