26th Restoration Day observed at Moirang

Moirang, May 17 2026: The 26th Restoration Day was observed on Sunday at Ibudhou Thangjing Moirang Laikol, commemorating the historic restoration of Ibudhou Thangjing Moirang to the people of Moirang by 16 brave fighters.

The observance was jointly organised by the Thangjing Seva Mandal Moirang, Ingu Phamnaiba and Phamnaibi Cheirap Loishang, and Amaiba Amaibi Loishang.

As part of the programme, floral tributes were offered at the memorial stones of the revolutionary leaders including former Chief Minister M Koireng, former Education Minister H Nilamani and 14 other fighters who played significant roles in the movement.

The tribute ceremony was led by Moirang AC MLA Th Shanti and Ingu Khadrakpam Salam Ibochouba, along with phamnaiba/phamnaibi, amaiba/amaibi, members of Thangjing Seva Mandal and family members of the deceased leaders.

The event was held to honour the sacrifices and contributions of the leaders and fighters who worked towards restoring Ibudhou Thangjing Moirang and safeguarding the cultural and spiritual heritage of the people.
