Kakching, October 14 2025: People For Animals (PFA) Manipur has released a python rescued yesterday from Sora Ching Wangma, Yaithibi Loukol.

On Monday night, three men from the area, namely Md Kamal Hasan, Md Intiyas and Suheb Akter spotted the reptile on the road during a walk, said a press release issued by L Biswajeet Meitei, Managing Trustee, PFA, Manipur.

Seeing it in an unsuitable environment, they caught the python for its safety and informed the relevant authority.

Following this, a team led by Kakching Range Forest Officer H Sunder Singh promptly rescued the reptile.

Meanwhile, members of People for Animals (PFA) Manipur picked up the python from the Kakching Range Office to assess it for any wounds and kept it overnight at the shelter.

After ensuring its proper hydration and deeming it free from any injuries, the reptile was released at a suitable location by PFA representatives along with other staff on the advice of RK Amarjit IFS, Conservator of Forest (Central).

PFA has extended gratitude to the people of Sora for their role in rescuing the python.
