Imphal, February 09 2026: In connection with the 18th foundation day of the Patriotic Writers' Forum (PAWF), Manipur , a National Poets' Meet was held today at the Hotel Emerel, located at Loktak Lake, under the theme "Loktak Kanshi, Manipur Shaktam Ngakshi".

According to a release issued by the PAWF, the programme commenced with Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, president of PAWF, inaugurating the event.

Khoisnam Ongbi Bimola attended the meet as the chief guest, while Chongtham Ongbi Subadani, president of the Leimarol Khorjeikol (The Leikol), moderated the poets' meet.

During the poetry reading session, 24 poets from Manipur, Assam and Tripura recited poems paying tribute to Loktak Lake and Manipur, highlighting cultural, environmental and emotional themes associated with the region.

The main function of the 18th foundation day celebration, along with the valedictory programme of the three-day event, will be held on Tuesday at the Loktak Hall, Manipur Press Club, Imphal at 1 pm, the PAWF said.

The programme will be graced by MLA of Wangkhei Assembly Constituency Thanjam Arunkumar as the chief guest.
