Frame looms distributed to weavers in Ukhrul

Imphal, January 08 2026: In an effort to strengthen and promote handloom sector, the District Handlooms & Textiles, Ukhrul, Government of Manipur, on Thursday distributed frame looms to weavers of the Greenland Handloom Cluster, Ukhrul, under the Small Cluster Development Programme (SCDP).

The distribution programme was held at the Greenland Community Hall, Ukhrul, and was attended by A Senthikumar, Senior Weaver, Weavers' Service Centre, Imphal; S Phungringla, Project Manager of District Handlooms & Textiles, Ukhrul; Aquila Zingkhai, chairman of Greenland Shimva Long; and Phijam Kangjamba Meitei, Cluster Development Executive (CDE), Greenland Handloom Cluster, Ukhrul, as presidium members.

During the programme, a total of 135 frame looms were distributed to the beneficiaries.
