Y Basanta felicitated on appointment as TDCC president

Thoubal, April 02 2026: A reception ceremony was held today at the District Congress Bhavan, Thoubal Athokpam, to felicitate Y Basanta on his recent appointment as president of the Thoubal District Congress Committee.

The programme was jointly organised by the Thoubal District Mahila Congress Committee and the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), Thoubal.

Several senior leaders and party workers attended the function.

Among those present were former MLA of Khangabok Assembly Constituency Okram Landhoni Devi, former DCC Thoubal president N Lukhoi, DCC vice-president Khaidem Muhindro, IYC president Y Malemnganba, DCC Mahila president Laimayum Nganbi Devi, vice-president A Sobita Devi, and Dr Hijam Micky, along with other party leaders who graced the occasion as presidium members.

The event also witnessed participation from block presidents and secretaries of Thoubal, Lilong, Wangjing-Tentha, Heirok and Wangkhem Assembly Constituencies.

During the ceremony, party leaders and workers felicitated Y Basanta by presenting him with traditional lengyan and tokens of appreciation, extending their warm wishes and encouragement.

Speakers at the function lauded the contributions and dedication of Y Basanta towards strengthening the Congress party in the district.

They expressed confidence that under his leadership, the party would continue to grow and perform more effectively in the days ahead.
