Imphal, March 30 2026: The Keirao Bitra Cultural Centre has performed a play, "Nong Nang Churanu", to raise public awareness about the environmental challenges impacting humanity.

The play, written and directed by Takhellambam Kamala Leima, was performed yesterday at the auditorium of the Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association in Irilbung.

The central theme of the short drama focuses on the consequences of human actions, specifically the indiscriminate felling of trees, which leads to environmental degradation and climate change.

The narrative illustrates the resulting hardships faced by people.

The play highlights specific incidents, such as landslides on National Highways during the rainy season caused by deforestation on the hillsides, which endanger the lives of drivers.
