Bishnupur VDF Welfare Assn extends financial assistance

Bishnupur, May 26 2026: The Bishnupur District VDF Welfare Association on Tuesday extended financial assistance to the family members of late Md Abdul Kalam, a Village Defence Force (VDF) personnel posted at Ningthoukhong, who passed away on May 14, 2026 due to personal illness.

The assistance programme was carried out under the initiative of Superintendent of Bishnupur Ksh Ravikumar Singh, VDF Welfare Committee Bishnupur chairman Yumnam Premjit, and Addl Superintendent of Police (L&O) .

A team of the association led by president Oinam Bijoy Singh, secretary N Rameshwor Singh, and vice-president M Amuthoi Singh, visited the residence of the deceased and handed over a sum of Rs 2 lakh to the bereaved family from the VDF Welfare Fund of Bishnupur.
