Five vehicles seized for transporting stone chips and boulders without permit in Jiribam

Jiribam, November 19 2025:
The Divisional Forest Officer of Jiribam Forest Division, in coordination with Jiribam Police, seized five vehicles transporting forest produce without without valid documents during a random patrol at Leingangpokpi, Jiribam, on the evening of November 18.As per a release issued by Jiribam Forest Division, the vehicles were found loaded with a total of 66 cubic metres of stone chips and stone boulders.
The forest produce was brought without a valid permit and Transit Pass issued by a competent authority, thereby violating provisions of the Indian Forest Act, 1927 and the Manipur Forest Rule, 2021.A preliminary offence report has been registered, and the five drivers were produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Jiribam District, on Wednesday.
The seized materials and vehicles will be processed by the Authorized Officer of Jiribam Forest Division in accordance with relevant Acts & Rules.
