Tengnoupal, July 19 2025:
With the arrival of monsoon season and the increased threat of water logging, Assam Rifles has proactively initiated an extensive fogging operation in Moreh, Tengnoupal district.
This vital public health campaign is part of the force's ongoing civic action programmes, aimed at preventing the outbreak of vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue and typhoid, according to a press release issued by IGAR (S).
The operation was conducted in close collaboration with local community leaders and targeted key residential areas, public spaces, waterlogged sites and other vulnerable zones.
Special attention was devoted to drainage lines, stagnant water bodies and densely inhabited pockets to disrupt mosquito breeding during the crucial monsoon period.
The fogging drive was undertaken at a critical time, as cases of vector-borne illnesses have seen a rise across the region.
The initiative was met with enthusiastic support and gratitude from the residents of Moreh who acknowledged that the intervention has significantly strengthened public health preparedness.
