Indian Army boost rural livelihood with pineapple processing unit in Churachandpur

In a significant step towards promoting self-reliance and sustainable livelihood in remote areas, the Red Shield Division of the Spear Corps of the Indian Army inaugurated a Pine-apple Squash Making Unit at L Phainom village in Churachandpur district The initiative, aimed at enhancing income generation through value addition to locally grown pineapples, was formally launched by a senior Army officer in the presence of villagers, community leaders and Army personnel.
The newly established facility is expected to provide a sustainable source of income for the local population by enabling value addition to locally grown pineapples.
The initiative is part of the Indian Army's ongoing efforts to contribute to socio-economic development and empowerment of local communities in far-flung areas.
It also focuses on encouraging entrepreneurship and skill development, particularly among youth and women.
Local residents expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the facility would play a vital role in improving their economic conditions and overall quality of life.
