Bishnupur and Kakching observe Vijay Diwas

Bishnupur/Kakching, December 16 2025: Vijay Diwas was observed with solemnity at Bishnupur and Kakching on Tuesday to Commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers whose courage ensured the nation's historic victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

In Bishnupur, the observance was held at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex.

Speaking at the occasion, Assistant Commissioner to DC, Bishnupur, Sh Gunamani, highlighted the crucial role of the Indian Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation's integrity and sovereignty.

He emphasized that national development is deeply linked to a strong sense of nationalism and urged citizens to understand their country's history, take pride in it, and actively contribute to preserving national unity.

Sh Gunamani called upon all citizens to share the responsibility of protecting and upholding the nation's values for its continued prosperity.

Officials of the District Administration attended the programme.

A two-minute silence was observed in honour of the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1971 war.

Meanwhile, Vijay Diwas was also observed at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex in Kakching Headquarters, under the aegis of the District Administration Kakching.

The day was marked to honour the bravery, sacrifice and strategic excellence of the Indian Armed Forces resulting in a historic military victory for the nation in the Indo-Pak War of 1971.Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kakching P Shantikumar Singh led the observance in the presence of AC to DC T Millikan Singh.

District Level Officers, officials, and staff of the District Administration Kakching also attended the observance.

As a mark of respect, a brief silence was observed in honour of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Meanwhile, the staff of the SDO Office, Kakching also observed the Vijay Diwas at their office located within the Mini Secretariat Complex and honoured the heroes of the nation for their bravery and courage.
