Tiranga rallies, various activities mark HGT campaign

As part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) campaign, BJP Heingang Mandal organised a Tiranga rally on Thursday, which was participated by people of Heingang assembly constituency and BJP Manipur Pradesh workers.
The rally, led by former chief minister N Biren along with BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sarda and other party leaders, commenced from N Biren's residence at Luwangsangbam and ended at the starting point after marching up to Khabam Lamkhai.
In his address, N Biren stated that the Tiranga rally is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's HGT campaign to celebrate India's independence from British colonial rule on August 15, 1947 with an aim to highlight India's unity and power.
While stating that citizens have to play a crucial role for a country to become powerful, he emphasised that all should stand for the country regardless of political differences.
Biren also appealed all to join the HGT campaign and the Independence Day celebration to make India a powerful nation.
Similarly, 109 Bn CRPF organised a Tiranga Rally under aegis of CRPF Manipur and Nagaland Sector on Thursday in collaboration with local schools and colleges, spreading the spirit of patriotism, unity, and national pride, with enthusiastic participation from students carrying the Tricolour and raising slogans of unity.
Sagolband MLA RK Imo Singh on Thursday led the people of Sagolband in a Tiranga rally, as a part of the HGT campaign.
The rally saw participation of youth, elders, and community leaders walking through the streets of Sagolband.
THOUBAL: As part of HGT campaign, students and teachers of Evergreen Flower School, Thoubal Ningombam on Thursday took out a Tiranga rally from the school campus, which after passing through Thoubal MI road culminated at the school.
KAKCHING: In connection with HGT campaign, Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Kakching organised various activities including Tiranga rally, quiz competition and letter writing on Thursday.
The Tiranga rally was flagged off by Kakching ZEO Mayanglambam Rakesh from Pallel-Chandel junction with students and teachers of Pallel High School, Pallel Junior High School, Pallel Maning Ching Primary School and Pioneer English School, Pallel along with staffers of the ZEO participating with the National Flag in their hands.
The ZEO also organised a Zonal Level Local Quiz Competition at Kakching Higher Secondary School under the HGT campaign, which was participated by around 100 students from various schools under it.
Thoithoibi Salam of Padma Ratna English School secured the first position of the competition, as Puspa Naorem and Alex Mayanglambam, also from the same school, shared the second position and Khumukcham Basanti Devi of Kakching Khunou High School adjudged winner of the third position.
Around 100 students also participated in a letter writing programme, addressed to police and defence personnel, at Kakching Higher Secondary School.
Later, a Tiranga rally was organised by ZEO, Kakching, participated by students and teachers of Kakching Higher Secondary School, as well as participants of the quiz and letter writing event, and staffers of the ZEO.
The rally commenced from the school and ended at Kakching police station, where letters penned by students were handed over to police and BSF personnel.
Meanwhile, a rally was organised by Kakching Municipal Council (KMC) on Thursday with participation of KMC caretaker chairperson Naorem Sanjitkumar, caretaker councillors, senior chief executive officer Thokchom Sidarth, staff and sanitary workers.
BISHNUPUR: Bishnupur DC Pooja Elangbam on Thursday flagged off HGT rally from Block Lamkhai till the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
DC Pooja Elangbam, ADM T Opendro, district level officers (DLOs), officials from various departments, and volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Bishnupur participated in the rally organised by the district administration.
Later, the DC formally invited all to attend the Independence Day celebration to be held at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur on Friday.
Across the district, schools under Zonal Education Zone-IV have been conducting series of activities since the start of the campaign, including rakhi making, rangoli competitions, zonal-level quizzes, and drawing contests.
On Thursday, several schools organised Tiranga rallies led by their teachers.
Utlou Government Model Higher Secondary School also held a unique rally featuring a long stretch of tricoloured fabric.
Under the Divisional Forest Office, range forest offices marked the occasion by distributing saplings to the public and carrying out roadside tree plantations, including along the Sendra road.
Moirang Municipal Council also joined the HGT campaign on Thursday with a cleanliness drive in and around Moirang town and nearby tourist spots.
Other line departments and officials too actively participated by hoisting the National Flag at their homes and offices, organising Tiranga Rally, taking selfies at designated points, and uploading them on the official campaign website among other activities in line with the government's guidelines.
