Imphal, October 11 2025: Loktak Day Celebration Committee Komlakhong has issued a clarification stating that the 28th Loktak Day celebration held at Komlakhong had no connection with the Mayang Imphal AC MLA and his family.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Yumnam Shantikumar, general secretary of the Committee, said that the event was organised under the supervision of social worker Urikkhinbam Ramesh.

He further stated that the Committee is a registered body and the event was organised with the participation of various resource persons to spread awareness about the current state of the Loktak lake and to foster its preservation.

A musical event was also held towards the end of the ceremony.

Shantikumar said it was unfortunate that misinformation had been spread about such an event on social media.
