SAHS holds health talk on 'Cervical cancer, HPV vaccine'

The Department of Community Medicine, Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS), Langol, conducted a health talk on "Cervical Cancer and HPV Vaccination" at Heirangoithong High School, Imphal West, as part of its school health programme and compulsory rotatory internship for MBBS interns.
The programme was held under the guidance of Dr Bemma Konthoujam, Associate Professor and In-charge, Urban Health Training Centre, along with senior resident, tutors, MSW and Health Educator.
Around 40 students of Classes VIII, IX and X, along with 12 teachers attended the session.
MBBS interns made presentations on cervical cancer, preventive measures and importance of HPV vaccination with charts and visual aids, followed by an interactive discussion where faculty clarified doubts.
The session also highlighted prevention and the recently launched HPV Vaccination Campaign under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Students and teachers appreciated the initiative, which reflects SAHS's commitment to promoting preventive healthcare awareness among school children through community-based health education.
