MSCW Chairperson flags off skill development tour

Imphal, July 11 2025: Thumlip Tiningpham, Chairperson of Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) on Friday flagged off a 1-day skilldevelopment training tour programme for Nupi Lup Village Federation, Kontha Khabam Gram Panchayat from Achanbigei Akham Leirak Community Hall.

The skill development training tour programme on "Making paper plates, cups, and other biodegradable items as an eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastics" was organised by the MSCW, in collaboration with BDO, Heingang CD Block.

As per a release issued by MSCW, the programme aimed to empower women in the community with skills to produce and sell eco-friendly products, supporting both environmental safety and financial independence.

Altogether, 57 trainees from 5 VLFs (Village Level Federations) participated in the training programme.

The trainees visited PHOUOIBI Food Container Making Industries in Taothong and Khuman Eco Pvt Ltd in Canchipur.
