UMEED Academy inaugurated to provide free coaching for underprivileged students

Thoubal, January 11 2026: A free coaching centre named UMEED Academy, to be run by the Ex-servicemen Group with the motto "Every Child A Hero", was inaugurated on Sunday at Pavitra Complex, Lamding opposite YK College.

The academy aims to provide free coaching to students from Classes III to VIII studying in government schools, particularly those from economically disadvantaged families.

The initiative seeks to nurture young learners from the grassroots level and equip them with a strong academic foundation to help them grow into successful individuals in the future.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the founder of the Academy, retired Group Captain Khumanthem Surjit Singh; along with retired Group Captain Thokchom Sanamatum Singh; Honorary Captain (Sub Map) Paonam Khelendro Singh; and retired Subedar MK Singh, among others.
