Aquila Zingkhai takes charge as AHTA president

Ukhrul, January 08 2026: The newly elected president of the All Hunphun Tang Association (AHTA), Aquila Zingkhai formally assumed office on Thursday during a handing-and-taking-over ceremony held at Kasomtang Hall in Ukhrul town.

The programme began with a special blessing prayer offered by Rev Ayonsui, pastor of Meizaiphung Baptist Church, Ukhrul, for the newly elected AHTA leadership.

This was followed by the formal handover of official files and documents by the outgoing AHTA president Chonmi Raleng to the new leadership.

It may be noted that AHTA comprises 28 localities of Ukhrul town and serves as an important representative body of the residents.

The newly elected office bearers are Aquila Zingkhai as president, Samuel Shaiza as vice-president, Somi as secretary, Ningreichan as joint secretary and Wunganing Kashung as treasurer.

Other executive members will be nominated by the new leadership in due course.

The newly constituted executive committee will hold office for a three-year tenure from 2026 to 2029 .
