Asthma awareness programme conducted at Moreh on World Asthma Day

Assam Rifles organised an Asthma awareness programme at Moreh to mark World Asthma Day, with the aim of promoting respiratory health and encouraging early detection and effective management of asthma among the local populace.
According to a release issued by IGAR (South), the event drew participation from approximately 40 residents, including men and women, reflecting strong community involvement in health-related initiatives.
The session provided essential knowledge on respiratory ailments and preventive healthcare practices, particularly relevant to those living in remote border areas where access to medical facilities is limited.
During the programme, the Medical Officer conducted an interactive session covering the early warning signs of asthma, common triggers, preventive measures and available treatment options.
Emphasis was placed on timely diagnosis, adherence to prescribed treatment and the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices.
Participants were sensitised on the importance of avoiding environmental triggers such as dust, smoke and allergens, alongside maintaining hygiene and a clean environment to reduce respiratory issues.
The initiative was well received, with participants actively engaging in discussions and expressing appreciation for the effort.
The awareness drive enhanced health consciousness and encouraged a proactive approach to well-being, reinforcing mutual trust and cooperation between Assam Rifles and the local community in Tengnoupal district.
