Assam Rifles and Sunbird Trust provide essential supplies to EMA Foundation orphanage

Imphal, April 05 2026: In a heartfelt initiative to support underprivileged children.

Assam Rifles, in coordination with Sunbird Trust, distributed essential bedding items to the children and caretakers of Ema Foundation Orphanage in Imphal West District, Manipur, on Saturday.

According to a release issued by IGAR (South), the programme was meticulously organised to provide comfort and dignity to 20 orphans and their dedicated caretakers by ensuring access to basic living necessities.

The distribution included high-quality bedding materials consisting of 22 dohars, 21 bedsheets and 22 pillows.

During the event, representatives of the foundation interacted with Assam Rifles to discuss the specific challenges and difficulties faced regarding basic facilities at the hostel.

Based on these discussions, the initiative focused on the immediate requirements of the orphanage to improve the overall living conditions and well-being of the residents.

Officials and troops along with representatives of Sunbird Trust remained present throughout the distribution, interacting warmly with the children and ensuring a seamless handover of the supplies.

This collaborative effort reflects the continued commitment of Assam Rifles towards humanitarian causes and community welfare.

By addressing the needs of the most vulnerable, such initiatives significantly impact lives across the region and reinforce the enduring bond between the security forces and the local population, said the IGAR (South) .
