Imphal, July 03 2025:
Amidst efforts to reinstate a popular government in Manipur, which is currently under the President's Rule, Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha has affirmed the collective support of all BJP MLAs for the leader chosen by the party's central high command.
Speaking at the launch of a tree plantation programme in connection with the weeklong Van Mahotsav celebration at Kangching, Telou under Lamlai assembly constituency on Thursday, Ibomcha disclosed that all the party MLAs have decided to abide by the decision of the central high command and support the leader appointed by it in order to prevent potential internal conflict during the selection process.
He further stated that a popular government is possible only when peace and tranquillity are restored and normalcy returns to the state, adding that efforts are being made to form a government during the President's Rule.
"It is a positive initiative that various organisations have come together, in coordination with the Centre, to find a solution to the ongoing crisis in the state which erupted on May 3, 2023," MLA Ibomcha said and pointed out the need for everyone to extend full support and work collectively to restore peace during this crucial time when different organisations are striving towards a resolution.
He also stressed that the MLAs perform to the best of their abilities and measure up to their responsibilities.
"They must work diligently as leaders to ensure that the IDPs are able to return to their respective homes", he added.
BJP Lamlai Mandal president L Shyam, who was also present on the occasion, said that the programme was organised as part of the initiative launched by the Government of India on July 1 to make India, including Manipur, greener through a weeklong tree plantation drive.
The function was also attended by Telou Chana Seijang ZP member A Jamini, Pungdongbam GP pradhan I Prem and Sawombung GP pradhan N Dhaneshwar among others.
