Imphal, September 01 2026: The Jhulon Waree Leeba Festival 2026 organised by Repertory of Waree Leeba Manipur, which began on August 23, concluded on August 28 .

Held at Aribam Mandap, Brahmapur Aribam Leikai, Imphal East, under Chief Minister-gi Artistsinggi Tengbang (CMAT) of Department of Art and Culture, the festival featured a workshop on "Waree Leeba Phaibok" .

The closing function was attended by Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata as chief guest, along with Repertory of Waree Leeba Manipur president Khomdram Surendra, Joint Director of Art and Culture G Dharmadas Sharma and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Sougrakpam Hemanta.

Speaking on the occasion, Th Satyabrata stressed the need to preserve and promote the art form of Waree Leeba which is on the verge of extinction, and assured all possible help.

Artists Senjam Nanaphullo and Soraisam Gunendro enthralled the audience with Waree Phaibok performance.
