Imphal, September 01 2025: Unidentified persons suspected to be underground militants placed two highly explosive hand grenades near the main entrance gate of Bal Vidya Mandir School, under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East.

The school is located a little distance away from Shree Shree Govindajee Temple.

The grenades were found by personnel of 66 CRPF personnel during their routine checking of the surrounding areas of the school complex this morning.

According to a reliable source, they are currently deployed at the school due to the law and order situation in the State.

Subsequently, they informed their bomb detection and disposal squad as well as the Porompat Police Station.

Upon receiving information, the Porompat police team rushed to the spot along with the bomb detection and disposal squad and safely picked up the hand grenades.

Porompat PS has registered a case in this connection.
