Workshop on creative dance concludes

Imphal, August 29 2026: The 20-day workshop cum production on creative dance, organised by Institution of Manipuri Art (IMA), Uripok Laikhurembi Leikai under CMAT scheme of Department of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur, concluded today.

The valedictory function was held at MDU Hall, Yaiskul Police Lane.

Joint Director, Art & Culture, Mrinashree Mairenbam attended as chief guest, Head, Department of Dance and Music, Manipur University, Dr Meikam Thoiba Singh as guest of honour and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Thokchom Chaotombi as president.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrinashree said CMAT has brought hope and support to artists, providing pension schemes and assistance for instruments to students.

The production's script and direction was by Thokchom Chaotombi.
