Imphal, September 26 2025: The Water Supply Maintenance Division No II, Government of Manipur, has informed the public that there will be irregular water supply in the areas covered by the Porompat Water TreatmentPlant.

This is due to the deterioration in the quality of fresh raw water from the River Iril, which has become stinky and muddy, making it unfit for immediate treatment.

The affected areas include - Officer Quarters Sanjenthong, JNIMS Hospital, New Checkon, Nongmeibung, Soibam Leikai, Ayangpalli Road, Khurai Kongpal, TV Tower area, Wangkhei Khunou, Rahmania, Top Khongnang Makhong, Thambalkhong and adjoining localities.

Normal water supply will be restored once the quality of fresh raw water from the River Iril is fit for treatment.
