AR pays tribute to braveheart

Imphal, July 25 2026:
Assam Rifles organised a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Modi Garrison in Chandel district on Saturday to pay homage to Martyr Rifleman (GD) Sube Singh Jat.
As per a release issued by HQ IGAR(S), Rifleman Sube Singh Jat attained martyrdom on July 25, 1974 during an operation in Longyang area of Mokokchung district, Nagaland.
He laid down his life while upholding the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Nation.
Assam Rifles personnel gathered at the memorial to lay wreaths and floral tributes.
A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect for the brave soldier's supreme sacrifice.
Speaking on the occasion, officers said the ceremony was held to honour the martyr's courage and reaffirm the Force's commitment to preserving the legacy of its fallen heroes.
The event served as a reminder of the valour and selflessness of Assam Rifles personnel, reinforcing the ethos of duty, honour and sacrifice that define the Force.
