Assam Rifles neutralizes unexploded bomb in Serou village

In a swift and decisive operation, Assam Rifles successfully disposed of an unexploded bomb at Serou Makha Lekhai in Kakching District, Manipur.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the potentially dangerous device was first spotted on August 22, 2025 by a local grazer, who promptly alerted the authorities.
Upon initial inspection, the police identified the object as an explosive and sought immediate assistance from Assam Rifles.
Responding without delay, a team from the force reached the site, secured the area, and initiated precautionary measures to safeguard nearby villages.
Demonstrating exemplary coordination with the civil administration, Assam Rifles ensured that the local population was informed and kept at a safe distance.
A specialized bomb disposal unit was deployed to the location, which conducted a thorough reconnaissance of the site.
After meticulous preparation and risk assessment, the team successfully neutralized the explosive through a controlled detonation in the early hours of August 23.The operation was executed with precision and professionalism, preventing any casualties or damage to property.
