Cycling for Manipur Peace: Malem Thongam reaches Loharijan

In an extraordinary display of resilience and solidarity, transgender activist Malem Thongam is cycling across India on a mission to appeal for peace in conflict-hit Manipur.
Malem began his journey on October 2, 2025, from Delhi's Qutub Minar under the banner "To Restore Peace and Harmony in Manipur" .
His route has taken him through Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and now Nagaland.
Along the route, Malem interacted with people of diverse communities, sharing the message of unity and harmony.
Upon reaching Lahorijan in Dimapur, Nagaland on Friday, Malem was warmly received by a team led by Maj Ravina Yumnam (retired), Sanjenbam Shyamson and Kh Nardama Devi, convenor of the Women's Wing, Delhi Meitei Coordinating Committee.
Locals led by Sagolsem Keshorchand Meitei also participated in the event to encourage the cyclist.
In connection with the 86th Nupi Lan Memorial Day, Malem along with the participants offered prayers and obeisance to the Almighty for the restoration of peace & harmony in Manipur.
