Capacity building training programme on sustainable products held

Tamenglong, September 11 2025:
A three-day capacity building training programme on Bamboo and Cane handicraft items, along with sustainable turmeric and bamboo shoots processing and packaging, was successfully held at Tamenglong headquarters.
The event was organised by the Tamenglong Forest Division under the aegis of the Raising and Accelerating MSME (RAMP) Scheme.
The training was attended by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Tamenglong, Kharibam Hitler Singh, Range Forest Officer Joel Gangmei, Khundrakpam Johnson, and A Promeshwor Singh.
Resource persons for the programme included Peiningjuanliu Barium, an FSSAI-registered entrepreneur specializing in sustainable approaches to turmeric and bamboo shoot processing and packaging.
For bamboo and cane handicraft training, experts Meiruthai Panmei (MSc Forestry and Member of the State Board of Wildlife, Manipur) and Gaisingamang TP & RK Thuandiyang, both local artisans, shared their knowledge and skills with the participants.
A total of 32 trainees, comprising 17 women and 15 men, actively participated in the programme.
The training aimed to boost the eco-tourism sector in Tamenglong district.
